Whats the Ideal riding technique for a Motorcycle?

Assume that the bike has been started.....

( Note: Please answer for City riding conditions where fuel economy, Balance, Handling and Noise level are all important)

1) How should one balance the Clutch - Accelerator ratio, gear wise?

2) On a slope is it good / bad to use the clutch, when the bike can free wheel - without acceleration?

3) If (2) deserves a good, then why? if not why?

4) How elevated the brake lever should be, for your foot action?

5) How should a bike be braked at different speed ranges?

6) Changing original wheel sizes - is it bad / has no effects? Explain

7) Changing Silencer's Diameter / re- modelling it - what effects it has on the bike?

8) Changing Handle Bar size / shapes - what effects it has on the bike?

9) Effects of Pillion Rider?

Please give technical reasoning behind your answers

Chrs,

-GopiWhats the Ideal riding technique for a Motorcycle? You need to work on JUST THIS.....

Shiney side UP.....rubber side DOWNWhats the Ideal riding technique for a Motorcycle?just do what feels comfortable. if you aren't comfortable, your riding experience isn't going to be good. once you get used to your bike, you will learn the best ways to ride, and what works best for you. everyone is different.Whats the Ideal riding technique for a Motorcycle?hello there, answers questions wise.

1)Every company has specified there gear accelerator ration.it may vary at different speeds.so it would b better if u read ur manual of ur bike or there must be sticker at the fuel tank on ur bike.if suppose on first gear the bike is raced to 20kmph instead of the 10kmph as mentioned by the company it will adversely affect ur bikes performationmreducing ur engine life and also clutch plate.

2)see when ur on slope and u press clutch lever the engine power is lost.it is not reaching the to the driven wheel. As much u press the clutch lever engine life is reduced and also it affects the clutch plate which indirectly effects the engine performance.this will also reduce ur fuel efficiency as power is lost.

3)mentioned above in point 2

4)sorry didnt got ur point.specify what exactly u mean.

5)Dodnt brake unnecessarily.coz it affects the engine.

6)Definately changing wheel size would effect ur bike's performance.if u replace the original tyre by a bigger one bike will experience more load and resistance.tyres are designed according to engine.

7)ya changing silencer will also effect bikes performance.broader the diameter of silencer more incomplete combustion and it will also cause more pollution.if the diameter of silencer is increased bike will experience more load.

8)Changing handle bars doesnt effect the performance of bike. But it will only effect the way u ride.handle will become more stiff and u will not be able to turn properly at desired angle.

9)Sorry didnt get ur point what effects on pillion rider?please specify under what condition.

To gain better fuel efficiency u should reduce the use if clutch.

Avoid instant braking

drive at constant speed.dodnt vary speeds

dodnt give sudden jerk to bike.dodnt just accelerate suddenly from 0 as it may lead to incomplete combustion reducing ur fuel efficiency.

regularly check air pressure in tyres.as if there is low pressure bike will experience more load and will effect engine.

Also check oil level.

Hope my answer satifies u.if not then do reply me i will inform u in more detail.im also a student of automobile engineering.

With regards,

Sunny.Whats the Ideal riding technique for a Motorcycle? If your that unsure about EVERYTHING, buy a car. If you still buy teh bike, make sure you get the owers manual and then go to your local book store and get a SHOP MANUAL. That will give you most of the answers your looking for.
