How does choice change anything?

i think we miss the boat when we constantly get sucked into the choice vs. born argument. i mean if i chose to be gay than that's my choice- right? if i chose to be gay am i somehow less worthy of marriage, tax brakes, hospital visitation, death benefits, health ins.,police protection, and fair laws?

if i chose to die my hair purple with pink polka dots wouldn't i be worthy of all those things? do i stop being american if i chose to be gay?

i'm not trying to be a troll or to be nasty. i simply wish to hear your thoughts as spritual people on this. How does choice change anything? It's a good point. If your choice hurts no one, what difference does it make? How does choice change anything? Then you need to read the inside? Unfortunately, homosexuality hurts society as a whole as well. Why do they not let them give plasma? Why don't they allow them to join the military? Why are they at such a higher risk for so many diseases, that yes, can be passed to others?

How does choice change anything?One's choice determines one's destiny.How does choice change anything?God knows whats already happened and whats going to happen so how in the world could we be making any CHOICES? The choice was made before we even got there.How does choice change anything?You have the choice to of right and wrong there is nothing else about your question that is relevant. If you choose to be a good person then you will produce good fruit if not then of course your fruit is rotten. When you do good, goodness and mercy will follow when you do bad , well guess what consequences meanHow does choice change anything?I've never understood the argument behind %26quot;We can persecute because it's a choice!%26quot;

If it is a choice, then I believe it should have the level of protection as the choice of religion. If you are an adult, you can choose to follow a new religion and not be persecuted for it.

And if not a choice then it is on a similar level as skin color, still stupid to persecute for it.

But then again, my wife would say I'm biased on this question.

;p

Apostle - show me one reputable source for being gay shortening your life span. That's the most ridiculous argument I've heard today, and that's saying something!

Edit: Cabs - how is beating your wife at all related? Beating her is violating her rights, being gay is violating noone's.How does choice change anything?I think that you've chosen a good person to listen good to (i.e; yourself).

I also note that you've been exercising your imagination, although perhaps a little ott - you could have simply mentioned civil rights instead of providing a list.

My thoughts on this make me think of the value of individually developed faith which can only be done through making choices for yourself about what to believe in, and not only accepting other viewpoints but remembering your own as well.

This might have nothing to do with the subject, but these are my thoughts.

On subject; Persecution for one's beliefs is a thing of the past.

Believe whatever you want to believe, because no one has the authority to tell you what to believe anymore. How does choice change anything? My thoughts as a spiritual person are really simple.

Before we become Christians, we are absolutely and totally incapable of keeping GOD's law. Once we choose to accept Christ and stop sinning, we still mess up all the time because we are BORN sinners. Take any child and do not teach them anything, and you will see how we were born to be. Only once we choose to turn our lives over to Christ, do we even have a chance to change anything.

So if you are gay, then great. I am not gay, but I am a lot of things that are against GOD's law too. Yet here I am. A Bible thumping Jesus freak.

If you want GOD's blessing on your sex life, then you would need to talk to GOD about that. How does choice change anything?Choice changes from good to bad and vice versa.

If you choose to be gay........you are going against God and since the USA is One Nation under God........I'd say that you are not American.....but an alien.

One needs to choose the right choices.........they are in the Bible and as long as they are not against God's word your choices are okay.

It is not okay to be gay.

Try being happy the way you are....carry your cross as many have before you.....don't tell people you are gay. Go to the doctor and take hormones for the human parts you were born with. After taking medicine to balance you correctly you will be at home with who you really are(born as).How does choice change anything? If I choose to beat my wife, am I somehow less worthy of marriage, police protection, etc.?

Edit: Phoenix - The question was, how does choice change anything? Nothing was said about a choice that doesn't violate someone's rights. I gave an example of a choice which shows that it is obvious that choices often lead to a loss of or lesser rights. How does choice change anything?Being Gay is a choice, a bad and unhealthy choice which shortens one life by over 20 years. If a person changes his or her spirit, then their behavior and desires change. When we turn from our sins and receive Jesus as our Lord, then God gives us the Holy Ghost. That is why we are called Born Again. We begin to change from the inside out.
