How long should your brake pads last?

i just had change them about two months ago but i ride every day to work and back then just around my city for fun ... i notice a sqeeky sound just today and it sounded like when i needed brake pads the first time . also they were after market brake pads to, so i dont realy know? How long should your brake pads last?It depends solely on how much you use the brakes. Check the thickness of the pad. I've had aftermarket get noisy long before time to change. How long should your brake pads last?if you buy OEM, then about 30k miles is the average. If you buy cheap pads, then about 15k if thatHow long should your brake pads last?when you buy the break pads ask them how long there good for, aask how many miles and it depends on how good of a driver you are if you dont ride the breaks etc, stopping turning raduiis in other words, whenever they sel you damn good break pads too hons!!How long should your brake pads last? When your brake pads wear down, they're going to leave a lot of brake dust. The brake dust can cause your brakes to squeak. Remove the brake pads/shoes and clean them with %26quot;contact/brake%26quot; cleaner (can get it at any bike or auto parts store). Clean the disc/drum also. If the brakes pads/shoes are glazed (shinny) scuff them up with a wire brush and clean again.

WHENEVER you do work on your brakes (remove a wheel, change brakes, adjust, bleed) make sure they work.

-If hydrolic, pump the lever/pedal to fully seat the brakes.

-When you first start off, lightly apply the brakes and let them drag while you're riding, to get the pads/shoes to match the disc/drum.

-When the brakes are strong enough to lock up the F or R wheel in a panic stop, then your brakes are ready and you're good to go.How long should your brake pads last?Brake pads have wear indicators that squeal loudly when your pads wear down. This is to let you know when its time to change them.Just listen for the noise they will tell you its time. How long should your brake pads last?I've had my OEM pads for 26K miles, but I need new ones!
