Brake pads?

How much does it cost to have your brake pads changed at a garage?

I know each garage will be different, but an estimate would be great!Brake pads?Well.........if you are gonne do what JESSICA H suggested......don't forget to pop the hood and remove the master cylinder cap and wrap a rag around the opening to prevent overflowing brake fluid from getting everywhere. Then, when you are done compressing, replacing and putting the caliper back on....PUT THE CAP BACK ON BEFORE YOU PUMP YOUR BRAKES!!!!Otherwise you will get air in the lines and then you will have to bleed them(Pain in the butt!)Brake pads? You should be able to call any garage and get an estimate, prices will be different. I change my own brake pads, take off the tire, remove two bolts from the back of the caliper and pull the caliper up and off, remove the old pads and compress the caliper with a C-clamp and slip in the new pads. Bolt everything back on and pump the brake pedal a few times and your ready to go.Brake pads?Depends on the car - you don't say what make it is but the front pads are normally cheaper that the rears, if (UK) a garage wants more that 45 then you should see if any of your pals can do it for you. It isn't very difficult and the average price for the pads alone should be around 25-30 in a motor factors or spares shop.Brake pads?110 + VAT for a typical Renault's front brake pads at a Renault dealer in Surrey.Brake pads?Between 30 and 50.Brake pads?If your discs are OK about 35-40. If discs need replacing, LOTS.Brake pads?it really depends on the cost of ur brakepads. i change my own and most parts stores offer 2 or 3 different priced pads, depending if they are lifetime warranted. im sure they're lil more exp for a bmw, not sure. most places vary in price, but i think a good guestimate would be around 100.00 +. its worth calling around to different shops, and stay away from dealerships!! they are generally twice as high.Brake pads?hi im a mechanic, i would do it for about 40, if the discs are okBrake pads?First of all ... WAY TO GO GIRL .. I love BMW .. got 528i here myself ... anyways ... have a look at this search .. i think it will help

http://www.google.com/search?num=50%26amp;hl=e

so about $69 and they come in pares .. two to the front and two to the back ..

Plus .. usially they will ask u to get a break sensor .. about $10 .. not sure ...

and they will take some $ for their work .. about $25 ...

so that would count up too : 69 + 10 + 25 = $104 ..

and lets hope u r changing them before they damaged the Discs .. other wise that would cost u more ..

good luckBrake pads?Whatever you do dont take it to kwik fit. Pads dont take long to fit so the garage will prob charge you a hour labour 30- 60 pounds dependant on garage you take it to youre pads shouldnt cost that much being bmw 316. personally i wouldnt pay more than 50/60 to get it all doneBrake pads?i recommend only bmw parts. brake parts are all different in quality. these cars are designed to stop, maneuver and perform. you will lose some of that with cheaper parts and cause vibrations when braking. a common complaint on bmw's with aftermarket brakes.
